The Devils' Punchbowl, Hindhead, Surrey, United Kingdom
For 200 years, the Hindhead commons and the Devil's Punchbowl, in Surrey had been divided by the A3 dual carriageway.
In August 2011 the A3 tunnel works were completed and the process to remove the old road began.
This photofilm charts the regeneration of this area of natural beauty, documenting the views of various stakeholders; highlighting the habitat renewal for endangered wildlife species like the silver-studded blue butterfly and the Dartford Warbler.
The notorious A3 at Hindhead was known for its traffic congestion and its accidents, but now with the removal of this once divisive route, the public can now visit the area and freely walk between the two properties as can local wildlife build their habitats unhindered.
