Nepal Earthquake - Children run to greet a UN helicopter delivering humanitarian aid, the first of many to reach the remote mountain village of Barpak, the known epicentre of the 7.8M earthquake.

Nepal Earthquake -With earlier than expected pre monsoon rains, at the epicentre of the earthquake parts of the road from Barpak the to the remote village of Laprak had been completely washed away, and with wind shear so dangerous helicopters could not fly, creating a logistical nightmare for aid agencies, and a major humanitarian crisis for those that inhabit the area. Forty porters were hired by Oxfam to deliver essential humanitarian aid by foot.

An Oxfam chartered boat sets off up the mighty Brahmaputra river in upper Assam to deliver much needed aid after unprecedented rainfall caused the river to burst it's banks causing widespread flooding, displacing thousands of people.

In Rudraprayag district, Uttarakhand, school children gingerly file pass a house devastated by floods. In June 2013 a large weather depression delivered unprecedented levels of rainfall causing widespread landslides and flooding across the Himalayan state causing huge logistical challenges for aid agencies and a major humanitarian emergency.
